The Prickel Barn is one of the most distinctive barn wedding venues in the region. Set on 200 acres in the rolling hills of Verona, Kentucky, in Boone County, it's a short drive from Cincinnati and pulls in couples from Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Dayton, Columbus, and beyond. Less of a traditional venue and more of a destination.
Haley and Tate were married in July. They skipped the first look with each other but kept it meaningful by reading private vows separately before the ceremony. Before that, Haley had a first look with her girls and her dad, which is one of my favorite alternatives to the traditional first look. You still get that real emotional reaction without spoiling the reveal at the altar. From there, the ceremony happened indoors, followed by a great reception.
What makes The Prickel Barn work so well on wedding film is the setting itself. The towering trees, the dappled light through the canopy, the rustic wood interior. Every shot has natural texture and depth. Beyond that, the property gives you more backdrop variety than most Kentucky barn wedding venues, which pays off in the final edit.
I have filmed at The Prickel Barn multiple times. If you are booking it, reach out.
I've filmed at 60+ venues across Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Dayton, and beyond. If you don't see your venue, reach out. I may have worked there too.
